Assorted poppies and Echium
We were very happy to be awarded the highest star rating for our cattery when we were inspected by our local council in order to obtain our operator licence and we like to keep the surrounding area smart and tidy and, if possible, make it more interesting.
We’re very lucky to live high up on a hill in the Lincolnshire Wolds, surrounded by cattle pasture, and we are both keen gardeners. Hannah has a BTEC Level 3 in horticulture and she’s also a qualified florist. She loves growing vegetables for the table whilst I potter about pruning and planting and trying to ‘design’ the garden. I’m quite ambitious design-wise, in my head at least, and we try every year to carry out my plans, but pressure of time always means that we end up concentrating more on maintenance than rejigging things. This stony strip is situated right in front of the cattery and most of it is taken up with growing potatoes, but Hannah threw a packet of flower seed onto this area and we’re really happy with the results – very bright and cheerful!
