Preparing Boris & Benji’s Fleeces

Hannah at the impromptu ‘fleece cleaning table’

Once Boris and Benji were shorn at the beginning of August we had to decide what to do with the resulting mass of woolly locks. We took the bagged-up fleeces into the cattery sluice room, put on some classical music, and happily picked through the fleeces to remove the dirty bits and most of the vegetation.  The plan was to wash the fleeces immediately, but we’ve been very busy, because we board a lot more cats during the summer holidays, so we still have the wool in a big tub, waiting to be cleaned in warm, soapy water.
