Every year we make and sell holly wreaths from the cattery. Luckily, we have a lot of holly hedges so finding raw materials is no problem. I make the holly bases and Hannah oversees the decorations. For the second year running we decided to make simple, inexpensive wreaths suitable for decorating doors or to be used as grave wreaths. We do a more luxurious option too which has also proved popular so we might make more of those next year. We have teamed up with our local shop, Muddy Paws, in the next village who are selling our wreaths from outside their shop and we hope to work with a local Christmas tree supplier next year. They do lovely, fresh trees and we buy a couple of 8/9 ft Nordmann firs from them every year for a very reasonable price. They are also happy to deliver.
I’ll make this a short piece because we are very busy at the moment designing new products for the retail website that we launched a few weeks ago and which is proving quite popular already. We offer a wide variety of countryside-themed gifts from socks and cards to hand-made bird feeders and personalised baby clothes and rag dolls but there is much more to come.
