The Foxglove Farm Blog is Back!

Introductory offer for all shop customers

We’ve been extremely busy since our last blog post – setting up the original gift website then re-designing and re-launching it – and have recently opened a small (but perfectly formed!) gift shop in the cattery reception area. We’re selling a selection of countryside-themed gifts, many of them hand-made in our workshops here at Foxglove Farm, greetings cards, gift wrap and so on, with lots of bargains in the shop that aren’t on the website. Fortunately, with the grip of lockdown being gradually released we are also seeing a lot of our loyal customers returning with their lovely cats. Next month we are pretty well fully- booked and Hannah and I are looking forward to working at full stretch again.

We have also planted vegetable and flower seeds in the poly tunnel and glass house so that we can begin selling some veg and bedding plants and we are the proud owners of a certificate to prove we are competent to do it. Actually, and do keep this to yourselves, all we had to do was fill out our details on the APHA  (Animal and Plant Health Agency) website and the certificate was emailed to us the following day. I’m sure however that, if there was a strenuous written test to complete, Hannah would have aced it!

It doesn’t seem long ago since, aged 3, she mustered a little gang of children to help her create a flowerbed at our home in Yorkshire. When I went outside to see what was happening and why so many children were wielding miniature hoes and spades, she proudly informed me that she had, “A passion for gardening”! Her father was there at the time, so I’ve not misremembered her early mission statement and it’s gone down in family history, much to Hannah’s embarrassment. Hopefully, she doesn’t actually read the Blog …
